TRR March, 2019 Contest Answer

It's that time of the year again for a contest. On March 19th, I'll be giving away an autographed copy of my latest Sinners book, The Heart of a Sinner, in The Romance Reviews spring contest. Here is the answer: D Matt's Sister-in-law. Good luck in the drawing. This book has been getting excellent reviews. http://theromancereviews.com to enter.
Speaking of reviews, I mentioned last month trying a new review service similar to NetGalley but cheaper.  Buzz Marketing promised ten impartial reviews within a month for $125 or my money back.  The reviews did not come in as a deluge but one by one slowly, then picking up speed and still coming in. They are generally well written and more than a few words, mostly four and five stars for the above title which I feel it merits, but then, I am the author. Of course there was one sort of puzzling review, not bad exactly, but the only person to give it three stars, though she mentioned it should be 3.5. I couldn't figure out what she didn't like about the story except that it was complicated and she hated a character she was meant to hate. Anyhow, I appreciate that she wrote a review. I learned years ago that my books will not be to everyone's taste. Though I did get some NetGalley reviews, this seems the better bargain financially.
My new historical title, Lady Flora's Rescue, will be up for grabs on NetGalley in March, just for a week, which I do not know. Please keep an eye out for your chance to get a free read. I might also submit to Buzz Marketing again. Sad that trying to get reviews costs more more than I make on my books. However, I did see a small uptick in sales that I believe are the consequences of these reviews as I reached new readers, a good result.

Another Contest, another Answer

Better to this before I forget about it.  The Romance Reviews is having a Sizzling Summer Reads Party and will be giving away many books if you answer a simple question about them. I am donating  a first edition, signed paperback copy of Paradise for a Sinner which takes place on a tropic isle. Drum roll, please.  The answer to the question is American Samoa. I think my book will be up for grabs on June third. Keep an eye out for it. The party runs the whole month of June with new books every day.
Yes, there are two Samoas, one its own nation, one an American protectorate. And possibly one a cookie-Samoans do love their coconut.  This small island provides an inordinate number of football players for it population, and they are 56% more likely to make it to the NFL than other college players. Known for their size, agility, and a cultural ethic to work as a team, they make great recruits. Adam Malala, the hero of my book, is just such a person. I hope the winner enjoys this read.

Contests and Contest Answer

Count this as my February blog because there won't be another one until March. You see, I donated an e-copy of She's a Sinner to The Romance Reviews for their month long Valentine's Day party. I seldom donate to these affairs as giving away one book probably won't make a difference one way or the other, and I am asked so often for free copies. In the e-world , your publisher does not give you boxes of paperbacks to give away for promotion.  You have to buy them at about $10 a piece, so it can get expensive. I can, however, give an e-copy for free.  The Romance Reviews (TRR) has been good to me and put up three positive reviews of my books (no, not all five stars, but good), and so I am happy to contribute to their party. Now let me cheat a little and do a cut and paste of what other goodies they are offering.
The Mega Anniversary and Valentine's Party starts on February 1 at 12:00am EST.
We have more than 300 participating authors and publishers.  There are more than 300 prizes up for grabs during the whole month of February. Grand prize is $200 Amazon Gift Certificate! Plus over $300 Gift Certificates and more than 300 book giveaways!
Caveat: You do have to join their site to win a prize.
To win She's a Sinner, you must answer the following question: In which Sinners Sport Romance does Xochi first appear.  You see, my sports books aren't just about sex and football, love and romance, but also about family and friendship as they follow for five books from Goals for a Sinner to Love Letter for a Sinner the career of Joe Dean Billodeaux, a quarterback, from his backup days to his retirement as a legendary player. The spin off Sinner's Legacy series is following the lives of his twelve children, the first two being Son of a Sinner and She's a Sinner which will be up for grabs on February first.  Xochi appears in both books, but first makes her appearance as a child in Kicks for a Sinner.  There's your answer.  Made you read a lot, huh?  But, I also hope I've encouraged you read the whole Sinner series.  Good luck.  May you win many prizes and not only mine.
